my water bottle

I have a pretty dope water bottle. I think it’s the best, coolest, and most awesome water bottle in the world.

Obviously, I know you probably don’t share the same sentiments about MY water bottle, though I hope you do about yours (or else you might want to reassess some things).

Though I would consider it an extraordinarily efficient and superior green hydro flask, its significance to me lies in its (and don’t laugh) companionship through time and experience as a reliable and contributing object. My water bottle (like many others) supplies water when I need it and sometimes various other (non-alcoholic) liquids, offers its surfaces to my nostalgia and vinyl memories, and bears the journeys I take with surprisingly little wear, though I pride myself in quality handling.

The bottle’s physicality bears the image of the places I have taken it and the places bear the bottle’s. Not only does the little green metal thing display a vinyl snapshot of most of these landscapes, but the landscapes themselves remain in my mind with the addition of the little green metal thing, lingering always in corners and periferals. The bottle has contained the land’s water and with it sustained the human’s body as they travel miles at a time, desert and mountain alike. The little green thing has seen the world but only for the sake of the human.

I appreciate my water bottle. It has helped me to nourish myself and reflected my memories back to me. Too bad it has no memories of its own.

it’s seen some things

  1. Hey! I loved your post! I have often thought of inanimate objects as friends or travel companions, but never my water bottle! Unfortunately, I do not have the same experience or life-long bond with my water bottle, but I can imagine where your affection for it comes from- seeing as it has literally sustained your life! Cool post. =)
